Morning routine.
What is the first thing you do in the morning? For a lot of people, it’s reach over and grab your phone, probably haven’t even got out of bed yet, and you start scrolling. You go to your notifications, emails and who commented on what.
The
problem
with
that
is
when
you
are
waking
up
our
brains
go
through
this
beta
wave
pattern
which
means
the
brain
is
at
its
most
impressionable
state.
The
same
is
true
when
you
are
preparing
to
fall
asleep.
First
thing
in
the
morning
the
brain
is
in
the
state
where
what
we
take
in
is
going
to
program
it
for
how
it’s
thinks
throughout
the
day.
So,
when
the
first
thing
you
do
is
grab
that
phone
in
the
morning
and
start
scrolling
you
are
programing
your
brain
with
whatever
information
someone
else
is
feeding
you.
You’re
not
the
one
programming
your
brain,
you’re
letting
it
be
programmed
by
whatever
people
are
commenting,
emailing,
or
whatever
you’re
looking
at
first
thing
in
the
morning.
You
don’t
want
that,
that
is
not
good
for
mental
health.
What
is
good
for
mental
health
is
positives.
If
you
use
your
phone
for
an
alarm,
I
do,
wake
up,
turn
that
alarm
off
and
put
the
phone
back
down.
No
emergencies,
nothing
vital
you
need
to
know
right
now,
come
into
the
morning
peacefully,
without
that
phone.
Wake
up,
sit
outside
and
listen
to
nature,
sit
inside
and
have
some
coffee
or
tea
or
whatever
it
is
you
enjoy
in
the
morning
and
embrace
your
day
with
calm,
hope
and
happiness.
Be
the
one
in
control,
use
your
mornings
to
train
your
mind
to
look
for
the
positives
each
day.
Better
if
you
don’t
even
use
your
phone
for
an
alarm,
if
you
can
get
an
alarm
that
plays
nature
sounds
so
you
can
wake
up
in
a
positive
state
and
you
can
program
your
brain
for
the
day
in
a
positive
way
right
from
the
start.
This
will
be
a
huge
help
to
mental
health.
A small, intentional shift in how you start each day can create a lasting impact, not just tomorrow, but for every day that follows. Wishing you all happy, peaceful mornings.
